Saud Shakeel Shatters Record for Most Runs in First 11 Test Matches by a Pakistani Batsman

Left-handed middle-order batsman Saud Shakeel has etched his name into the record books by breaking the record for the most runs scored by a Pakistani batsman in their first 11 Test matches. During the first Test match against Bangladesh, Saud Shakeel surpassed the previous record held by Saeed Ahmed, who had scored 1041 runs at an average of 54.37 in his first 11 Tests.

Saud Shakeel, who scored 141 runs in Pakistan’s first innings against Bangladesh, now boasts an impressive total of 1108 runs in just 11 matches. His remarkable achievement, with an outstanding average of 65.17, underscores his consistency and reliability in the longest format of the game.

The record previously held by Saeed Ahmed had stood the test of time, making Saud Shakeel’s accomplishment even more significant. Following this milestone, Saud Shakeel now ranks among the elite group of Pakistani batsmen who have made a strong impact early in their Test careers. Among others on the list, Abdullah Shafique has scored 973 runs in his first 11 Tests, followed by Javed Miandad with 971 runs and Sadiq Mohammad with 892 runs.

This achievement not only highlights Saud Shakeel’s prowess as a batsman but also solidifies his place as one of Pakistan’s most promising cricketing talents.
