UNICEF Pakistan’s National Ambassador for children’s rights, Saba Qamar, recently engaged in a productive dialogue with German Consul General Dr. Rudiger Lotz to address key issues surrounding children’s rights and environmental challenges in Pakistan.
Highlighting the importance of youth involvement, Qamar stated, “Children’s rights and environmental issues can only be resolved by actively engaging the youth of this country.”
Dr. Lotz reiterated Germany’s commitment to these causes, emphasizing the global urgency of combating climate change and the shared responsibility to act.
The meeting spotlighted the “Make Karachi Green” initiative, led by the German Consulate General, aimed at planting trees and educating schoolchildren on the critical importance of environmental conservation. Ms. Anja Klos, Consul at the German Consulate, briefed Qamar about the campaign, presenting tree seeds to support the mission.
