Russia has announced the development of its own mRNA vaccine for cancer treatment, a groundbreaking innovation set to be distributed free of charge to patients starting in early 2025. Andrey Kaprin, General Director of the Radiology Medical Research Center, shared the news via Radio Rossiya, as reported by Russian agency TASS.

The vaccine has undergone pre-clinical trials, demonstrating its ability to suppress tumor growth and reduce metastases. Leveraging artificial intelligence, researchers accelerated vaccine creation, personalizing it in as little as an hour.

Alexander Gintsburg, Director of the Gamaleya National Research Center, confirmed the vaccine’s imminent availability and its potential to revolutionize cancer treatment. Unlike preventive vaccines like the HPV vaccine, this therapeutic vaccine trains the immune system to identify and destroy cancer cells by targeting specific proteins or antigens found in tumors.

Experts believe the vaccine could bolster the immune system’s natural defenses, eliminate early-stage cancers, and prevent recurrence. This collaboration among Russia’s top research centers is being hailed as a significant step forward in oncology.
