Rohit Sharma Surpasses Afridi to Become ODI Cricket’s All-Time Leading Six-Hitter

India’s legendary batter Rohit Sharma has rewritten cricketing history by overtaking Pakistan’s former captain, Shahid Afridi, to become the highest six-hitter in the history of men’s One-Day Internationals (ODIs).

The milestone came during the opening ODI of India’s three-match home series against South Africa at the JSCA International Stadium Complex. Rohit entered the match with 349 ODI sixes, needing just three more to go past Afridi’s record of 351 sixes.

With a blistering half-century against the Proteas, Rohit smashed exactly three sixes—taking his tally to 352 sixes in just 269 innings. The Indian skipper surpassed Afridi, who accumulated his 351 sixes in 369 innings over 398 matches.
