Renowned Artist Naseer Muhammad Shahi Threatens to Sell His Children Amid Financial Hardship
Naseer Muhammad Shahi, a renowned Quetta-based artist, has revealed he may be forced to sell his children due to severe financial difficulties. Shahi, who has been battling challenges related to his disability, recently set up a protest camp, pleading for help from the authorities after the Balochistan Culture Department allegedly halted his stipend.
During an emotional press conference, Shahi expressed his desperation, stating that his inability to work, compounded by the withdrawal of financial support, has left him with no choice but to take such drastic measures. With tears in his eyes, he revealed that he would have to sell his children, each valued at Rs40,000.
Shahi’s heartfelt words underscored the gravity of the situation. He questioned if anyone could find a goat available for such a low price, highlighting the absurdity and deep sorrow in being forced to assign a monetary value to his own children.
The situation has exposed the financial vulnerability faced by many artists in the region. Despite their contributions to culture and society, they often struggle to make ends meet, especially when support systems collapse.
