Relief Convoy Delivers Essential Supplies to Kurram District Amid Ongoing Challenges

Parachinar-Tal road has reopened for limited traffic following significant relief efforts in Kurram District. On Wednesday, a convoy of 35 vehicles arrived, delivering much-needed supplies to flood-affected areas. Ten of these vehicles were specifically allocated to support individuals impacted by the floods.
Assistance also reached the border villages of Upper Kurram, including Teri Mingal, Maqbal, and Boshehra.
Haji Imdad, president of the Traders Association in Parachinar, described the chaotic scenes as trucks and smaller vehicles brought goods to the city. Essential items sold out quickly, with many purchased directly from the vehicles.
Abid Hussain, a leader of the Poultry Association, highlighted that trucks carrying chickens faced similar challenges. Upon arrival, chickens sold out instantly, but many were already dead.
Haji Imdad stressed the need for more resources, pointing out that the current convoy is far from adequate for the district’s population of over 400,000. “We need at least 500 trucks to meet the demands,” he said.
