Relief After Scorching Heat: Rain, Thunderstorms Forecast in Punjab & KP

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast thunderstorm-driven rain and strong winds in various parts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) following days of intense heat.

In Punjab, dusty winds are expected in the plains, while light rain is likely in cities such as Talagang, Jhelum, Rawalpindi, and Chakwal. The hill stations of Murree and Galiyat may receive isolated showers with thunder, especially during evening and night hours.

In Islamabad, daytime heat is likely to remain intense, but scattered thunderstorms or light rain are possible in the evening or night, offering some relief.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, dust storms are expected across the plains, while upper districts including Chitral, Dir, Swat, and Malakand are forecasted to receive rain with lightning at night. Similar conditions may occur in Mansehra, Shangla, Kohistan, and Abbottabad.

The PMD advises residents to stay cautious during stormy conditions and stay updated through official weather bulletins.
