Rain System to Enter Pakistan from February 18, Heavy Rain and Snow Expected

After an extended dry spell, a rain system will enter Pakistan from February 18 to 20, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department. This system is expected to bring rainfall to Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, and various parts of Punjab, KP, and Balochistan.
In Azad Kashmir, intermittent rain and snowfall are already underway. Lahore will remain cloudy today, with temperatures ranging between 10°C and 25°C. The air pollution index in Islamabad currently stands at 152, and humidity levels across the country are around 31-35%.
The Met Department forecasts strong rainfall in Balochistan, with Quetta, Ziarat, Zhob, Chagai, Qila Saifullah, and Khuzdar expected to receive significant precipitation. In Sindh, Karachi is unlikely to receive rain, though Sukkur and Larkana may experience light drizzle.
A strong western weather system will affect up to 80% of northern Pakistan, leading to snowfall in mountainous areas of KP, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir. Rainfall is expected in Punjab from February 19 to 21, with Islamabad receiving 2 to 3 spells of rain.

Authorities have advised travelers and residents in northern areas to prepare for snowfall and heavy rainfall in the coming days.
