Quetta Railway Station Suicide Attack, 24 Dead, Authorities Condemn Act of Terror
In a tragic incident at Quetta Railway Station, a suicide attack took the lives of 24 individuals, targeting security forces near the platform. According to Quetta Commissioner Hamza Shafqat, the banned organization claimed responsibility for this horrific act. SSP Operations Quetta, Muhammad Baloch, stated that over 100 people were present at the platform, and the attack happened just as the station was bustling with passengers waiting for Jaffer Express, scheduled to depart at 9 am. Authorities have urged the public to avoid crowded areas as security has been ramped up across the city.
Following the blast, an emergency was declared at the Civil Hospital, with additional medical staff on duty. Law enforcement quickly arrived at the scene, and the Bomb Disposal Squad began collecting evidence. Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti condemned the attack, calling it part of an ongoing series of assaults on innocent civilians, including laborers, women, and children. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also denounced the act, offering prayers for the deceased and demanding a swift investigation. Both leaders emphasized the government’s commitment to eradicating terrorism.
