The Punjab University has postponed all exams for its students due to the escalating smog crisis in Lahore. University officials announced that new exam schedules will be communicated later. In the interim, teachers at affiliated colleges have been directed to transition to online classes to maintain academic progress.

As the air quality in Punjab continues to deteriorate, the provincial government declared a health emergency in Lahore and Multan, rolling out a series of stringent measures to combat smog. These include shutting down brick kilns and furnace-based plants, banning heavy traffic entry, and extending holidays in educational institutions until November 24. A potential full lockdown over the weekend looms if conditions do not improve by Wednesday.

Dining hours at restaurants have been restricted, with complete closures mandated by 8 PM. Construction activities have been banned in Lahore and Multan, except for national-level projects. Healthcare services have been ramped up with extended OPD hours and cancelled holidays for medical staff.
