Punjab Launches Honhar Laptop Scholarship Program for Students

The Punjab government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has announced the Honhar Laptop Scholarship Program to promote educational excellence through technology.

The program will distribute 50,000 laptops, including advanced Core i7 13th-generation models, to deserving students across Punjab within 90 days. The first phase will see 5,000 laptops distributed within 30 days, with the rest to follow by February 20.

Special allocations include 2,000 laptops for minority students and laptops for high-performing matriculation and F.Sc students, who will also be honored with a ceremonial Guard of Honour.

The distribution plan reserves 20,000 laptops for university students, 14,000 for college students, 2,000 for medical and dental students, and 4,000 for those in industry and agriculture sectors. Notably, 32% of the laptops are allocated to students from Southern Punjab.

Additionally, the Chief Minister’s Merit Scholarship Program will support 18,000 female students by covering their full tuition fees for up to five years, further enhancing opportunities for women in education.

This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to advancing education and empowering youth through innovative programs.
