Punjab Home Department Releases New Security Guidelines for National Oil Pipeline Network
The Punjab Home Department has released a comprehensive new policy aimed at strengthening the security of the National Oil Pipeline Network. According to the new directive, any attacks on the National Oil Pipeline and other critical national installations will be classified as acts of terrorism, emphasizing the gravity of such threats.
Under the new guidelines, district administrations across Punjab are mandated to ensure robust security for the National Oil Pipeline, which spans approximately 2000 kilometers. This extensive network’s protection is vital for national security and economic stability.
To enhance security measures, a joint mechanism involving police and other law enforcement agencies will be established to safeguard all security installations within the province. These agencies are tasked with the critical responsibility of protecting these national assets from potential threats. The directive also includes the incorporation of these security measures into the Provincial Disaster Response Plan. This integration aims to streamline emergency responses and improve coordination among various agencies in the event of an incident.
This proactive approach by the Punjab Home Department underscores the importance of the National Oil Pipeline Network and the need for heightened security measures to ensure its protection and operational integrity.
