PTI Set for Major Rally in Lahore Amid Strict Conditions and Deadlines
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is gearing up for a major rally today in Lahore, with supporters traveling from all over Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Led by KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, the caravans from KP were making their way along the M2 motorway, while participants from Punjab utilized the motorway and GT road to reach the venue.
The district administration has granted conditional permission for the rally to be held from 3 pm to 6 pm at the Kahna area on Ring Road. The Deputy Commissioner’s office outlined several conditions, including crowd control and security responsibilities being placed on PTI organizers. Strict instructions were issued regarding parking management, ensuring the security of men’s and women’s enclosures, and preventing disruption to the city’s daily life.
Organizers are required to cooperate with local police and traffic authorities to create a smooth flow of traffic. The district administration has also prohibited the use of sticks, weapons, fireworks, and incendiary slogans, while the display of Afghan flags is banned. Any violations of these terms could result in legal consequences for the organizers.
With security concerns looming, the PTI leadership has been reminded to adhere to the conditions, particularly regarding safety protocols, to avoid any untoward incidents during the event. Meanwhile, a caravan from Peshawar is also expected to join the rally in Lahore later today.
Earlier, the Lahore High Court directed the Deputy Commissioner to finalize the decision regarding the rally, following a petition filed by PTI leaders seeking permission to hold the event at Minar-e-Pakistan.
