Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced plans to hold a rally in Lahore on Tuesday, March 18, to express solidarity with the martyrs of the Jaffar Express hijacking and the brave personnel of the Pakistan Army who lost their lives during the Bolan Green rescue operation.

In a video message, PTI Punjab’s Vice President, Akmal Khan Bari, condemned the attack, calling it an act of “extreme brutality” aimed at destabilizing the nation. He emphasized that the rally would not only honor the martyrs of the train attack but also show unwavering support for the armed forces that continue to defend Pakistan’s borders against terrorist threats.

Bari urged the Punjab government to allow the peaceful rally to take place, ensuring there would be no hindrance. The rally will start at the General Post Office Chowk in Lahore and conclude at the Punjab Assembly, where PTI workers, lawyers, and civil society members are expected to join in large numbers.

“We must stand united in this critical moment,” Bari stated. “This is not just about PTI; it’s about the people of Pakistan showing their support for our soldiers and their sacrifices.”

The attack, attributed to the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), resulted in the martyrdom of 21 passengers and the deaths of four Frontier Corps soldiers. However, following a complex 30-hour rescue operation by the military and security forces, all 33 terrorists were eliminated, and hostages were freed without any further loss of civilian life.

The rally aims to send a strong message of national unity and appreciation for the sacrifices of Pakistan’s security forces.
