Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Omar Ayub accused the incumbent government of attempting to bribe PTI senators to secure votes for the 26th Constitutional Amendment. Omar Ayub emphasized that PTI is opposed to the constitutional amendment and will not support any changes without the approval of its leadership, including party founder Imran Khan. Additionally, Ayub alleged that Zain Qureshi’s wife was abducted near the home of the Minister of Interior.

Barrister Gohar, speaking on behalf of PTI, reiterated that the party would submit its draft amendment proposal only after consultation with Imran Khan. Meanwhile, PPP leader Khursheed Shah criticized PTI for not presenting any drafts despite multiple requests.

The controversy comes as a parliamentary committee works on a constitutional amendment package, with PML-N and PPP recently backing away from their proposal for constitutional courts. According to sources, the coalition government and JUI have agreed on a constitutional bench and are seeking PTI’s input on the matter.
