President Zardari Meets Chinese Envoy, Stronger Ties, Regional Peace Top the Agenda
In a high-level meeting at Aiwan-e-Sadr, President Asif Ali Zardari welcomed Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong to discuss matters of mutual interest, regional cooperation, and strengthening bilateral ties.
President Zardari reiterated Pakistan’s deep commitment to its long-standing friendship with China, stating:
“We attach great importance to our relations with China. There are immense opportunities to enhance cooperation in trade, economy, culture, and regional connectivity.”
He emphasized the need for joint efforts to promote peace and prosperity in the region, and expressed gratitude for China’s unwavering support, especially during challenging times. Zardari also acknowledged China’s vital role in Pakistan’s socio-economic development.
The Chinese Ambassador conveyed President Xi Jinping’s heartfelt birthday wishes to President Zardari, and reaffirmed Beijing’s commitment to working together for lasting peace and prosperity in the region.
The meeting underlined the ever-deepening strategic partnership between Pakistan and China — a relationship often referred to as “Iron Brothership.”
