PPP Suggests Democratic Solutions for PTI Ban and Reserved Seats Issue
The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has recommended to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) to thoroughly deliberate before filing a review petition against the Supreme Court’s decision regarding reserved seats. Additionally, the PPP has advised handling the matter of imposing a ban on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) through democratic means. The PPP asserts that the government should approach these issues with wisdom to maintain political stability in the country.
Meanwhile, the Awami National Party (ANP), the major opposition party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has criticized the federal government’s decision to impose a ban on PTI as childish and imprudent. The ANP argues that such measures will only add complexity to the country’s political landscape and stresses that political disputes should be addressed through established democratic processes rather than restrictions.
The ANP’s spokesperson emphasized the need for a Truth and Reconciliation Commission to thoroughly investigate those who have undermined the constitution and engaged in violations, calling for accountability without supporting fascist or authoritarian tendencies.
