Political Standoff Ends in Punjab Assembly: Speaker Agrees to Reinstate 26 Suspended Opposition Members

The political deadlock in the Punjab Assembly appears to be over as Speaker Malik Ahmad Khan has decided to withdraw references filed against 26 opposition members.
According to Express News, the Assembly Secretariat has prepared a draft to drop the references, which were initially submitted by government lawmakers Ahmad Iqbal, Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman, and Iftikhar Ahmed Chhachhar.
Sources confirm that the government and opposition reached an understanding that includes the reinstatement of suspended lawmakers. Implementation will take place upon the Speaker’s return from abroad. The development is being seen as a step toward restoring parliamentary harmony in Punjab.
