PML-N MPA Rana Abdul Mannan Arrested After Bail Rejection in Bardana Scam Case

Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) MPA Rana Abdul Mannan Sajid, representing PP-272 (Muzaffargarh-v), was arrested on Saturday after his bail was rejected by the Lahore High Court (LHC) Multan Bench in the bardana scam case.

The bardana scam, which involves allegations of corruption in the distribution of jute bags used for storing grains, had led to accusations against Rana Abdul Mannan for misuse of his authority. In addition, there have been claims of torture and misconduct toward the Assistant Commissioner of Muzaffargarh in connection with the case.

Rana Abdul Mannan, who also serves as a member of the Committee on Privilege, Special Education, was arrested directly from the courtroom after the bail rejection. The case has drawn significant attention, given his prominent political position within the PML-N and the severity of the allegations. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the scam, with further legal proceedings expected in the coming weeks.
