PCB in Talks to Convert ODIs into T20s for West Indies Tour

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has initiated discussions with the West Indies Cricket Board to convert the scheduled ODI matches into T20 Internationals ahead of their August 2025 tour.
According to PCB COO Sameer Ahmed Syed, “Several major tournaments are approaching, and we are looking to provide the national team with increased exposure in the shorter format to better prepare for global standards.”
Currently, Pakistan is scheduled to play three T20Is and three ODIs during the tour. If the PCB’s proposal is accepted, the entire series could be played in T20 format.
This move reflects the growing global shift towards short-format cricket, while also raising questions about the future relevance of the 50-over format.
