PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi Spends 4.1 Million on Hotel Stay and Utility Allowance in 4 Months

The Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, has come under scrutiny following an audit report for 2024-25, which reveals that he spent a total of 4.1 million rupees on hotel accommodation and utility allowances within just four months. The audit report also highlights several irregular expenditures and contracts during the PSL 9 season.
According to the report, 65 million rupees were spent on police meals during PSL 9, while 8 million rupees were spent on the illegal appointment of a media director. Additionally, 5.4 million rupees were spent on the irregular appointments of three regional age group coaches. The report further reveals that a private company was awarded a contract worth $120,000, which violated regulations.
Moreover, an umpire was overpaid by 3.8 million rupees for his match fees, and 25 million rupees were wasted on vehicle rentals. Several companies were awarded irregular contracts totaling 190 million rupees, while 4 million rupees were paid suspiciously for a cricket ground. An international firm also received a contract worth 30 million rupees, which was in violation of the rules.
The report also pointed out that over 5.25 billion rupees in recoveries from various media companies during PSL 9 were never made.
A spokesperson for the PCB stated that they could not comment on the report at this time and would issue a statement once the report had been reviewed.
