Pakistan’s Security Non-Negotiable: Field Marshal Asim Munir
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has reaffirmed that the protection of Pakistan’s territory, national integrity and every citizen is the foremost priority of the Pakistan Army — and that no compromise will ever be made on this commitment.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), participants of the National Security Workshop–27 (NSW-27) visited the General Headquarters (GHQ) where they were given a comprehensive briefing on national and regional security matters.
NSW-27, organized by the National Defence University, brings together parliamentarians, senior civil and military officials, academics, and members of civil society on one platform to enhance understanding of key national security issues.
During an interactive session with the participants, the Army Chief emphasized that national unity is Pakistan’s real strength. He was also briefed in detail about the country’s internal and external security environment and overall national security landscape.
Field Marshal Asim Munir highlighted the rapidly changing security situation in the region, noting that rising geopolitical tensions, cross-border terrorism, and hybrid warfare have added further complexities.
He stated that despite externally supported terrorism and information warfare, Pakistan’s armed forces, intelligence agencies, and law enforcement institutions are demonstrating unwavering resolve, professionalism, and resilience to safeguard national security.
Commenting on Pakistan’s global standing, the Army Chief said Pakistan is a dignified and proud nation and will achieve its legitimate and respected position in the international community. He added that the professional excellence and determination of Pakistan’s forces during “the battle of truth” have enhanced the country’s stature globally.
The participants were also briefed on ongoing nationwide operations against illegal activities including smuggling, narcotics trafficking, and organized crime networks. Updates were also shared regarding improved border management and the repatriation of illegal foreign nationals.
Field Marshal Asim Munir reiterated that the safety of Pakistan’s land, national sovereignty, and the lives of all Pakistani citizens remain non-negotiable priorities. He stressed that sustained peace, stability and prosperity require synchronized national efforts with full cooperation between federal and provincial governments.
He concluded by reaffirming that the Pakistan Army will continue to extend full support to all state institutions.
