Pakistan’s Military Spokesperson Highlights Afghan Repatriation Amid Terror Concerns

DG ISPR Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, in an interview with a German magazine, disclosed that illegal Afghan nationals residing in Pakistan have been involved in terrorism and serious crimes. He emphasized that Pakistan has hosted millions of Afghan refugees for over 40 years with generosity, but the original reasons for asylum no longer exist, making repatriation a natural and necessary step.

He stressed that the repatriation process has been handled in an organized and dignified manner, with multiple extensions to deadlines out of humanitarian concern. However, credible evidence shows some illegal Afghan citizens’ direct involvement in terrorism and criminal activities within Pakistan.

Commenting on India, DG ISPR noted that recent violent incidents in India are the outcome of extremist policies. He further accused India of supporting state-sponsored terrorism in Pakistan, calling it a grave threat to regional peace and stability.
