Pakistan’s Contingent Ready to Compete in 5th World Nomad Games 2024

Pakistan’s combined contingent is set to participate in the 5th World Nomad Games, taking place in Astana from September 7 to 14, 2024. The opening ceremony will be held on September 8, where Malik Sajjad Hussain Awan will lead the Pakistani team. The team will compete in a variety of traditional sports including Tug of War, Mas-Wrestling, Kurash, Traditional Wrestling, Mind Games, Traditional Archery, and Powerful Nomad.

Rana Muhammad Jameel, the General Secretary of the Pakistan Tug of War Federation, will serve as Chef de Mission for the team.

The World Nomad Games are an international event that celebrates the heritage of nomadic cultures and traditional sports from across the globe. With athletes from over 100 countries participating, the games foster a sense of unity and competition in age-old sports.

“We are proud to represent Pakistan in these historic games and look forward to showcasing the strength, skills, and spirit of our athletes,” said Rana Jameel.

Pakistan’s participation highlights its dedication to promoting and reviving traditional sports on the international stage. The Pakistani team members are eager to demonstrate their talents and make their mark in the prestigious event.
