Pakistani Students Secure Resounding Victory Over Indian Panel in Oxford Union Debate

Pakistani students achieved a remarkable victory at the prestigious Oxford Union, defeating the Indian delegation with a powerful two-third majority vote in a high-stakes debate on India’s Pakistan policy.

The debate centered on the motion: “India’s policy towards Pakistan is essentially a strategy to provoke public sentiment, presented under the guise of security policy.”

India initially nominated high-profile figures—including former Army Chief General Naravane, Dr. Subramanian Swamy, and politician Sachin Pilot—but all withdrew from participation. As a result, India fielded a relatively lower-tier panel comprising J. Sai Deepak, Pandit Satish Sharma, and Debarcan Banerjee.

Pakistan, on the other hand, chose a different strategy. In an act of confidence and openness, it opted not to send senior officials. Instead, it entrusted its representation to Pakistani students studying at Oxford: Musa Harraj, Israr Khan Kakar, and Ahmed Nawaz Khan.

Throughout the debate, the Pakistani team dismantled the Indian panel’s narrative with strong arguments based on logic, international law, and statistical evidence. Their clarity and confidence resonated with the audience.

Despite a larger number of Indian members in the Oxford Union, the Pakistani stance won by a striking two-third majority.

Experts say this victory demonstrates the strength and credibility of Pakistan’s narrative when backed by facts and reason. They also note that India’s withdrawal of top-level speakers and the subsequent defeat of its second-tier panel reflect the intellectual weakness of its policy position.
