Pakistani mountaineer Murad Sadpara lost his life, Rescue Operation for dead body underway
Renowned Pakistani mountaineer Murad Sadpara has tragically lost his life during an expedition on the 8,047-meter-high Broad Peak. Sadpara, who was leading the K2 cleaning campaign, was seriously injured after being struck by a falling stone at Camp 1. Despite immediate efforts to save him, Sadpara succumbed to his injuries.
In response, the Pakistan Army initiated a rescue operation to retrieve his body from the mountain. The six-member rescue team successfully transported Sadpara’s body to the Japanese base camp. It is expected to take an additional five hours to bring his body back to the main base camp.
The news of Murad Sadpara’s passing has sent shockwaves through the mountaineering community and the nation. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed her deep grief over the loss and extended her heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
