Pakistan to Launch PM’s Construction Package to Boost Housing and High-Rise Development

The Pakistan government is set to launch the Prime Minister’s Construction Package in the first week of November, aiming to give a substantial boost to the construction sector, according to ARY News. This new initiative will encourage high-rise developments and support affordable housing options.

Sources revealed that the package might include the provision to add rooftop residential units and potentially allow a third floor on existing two-story homes. Low-cost housing development is also a priority, with an expected reduction in map approval fees to facilitate builders and homeowners.

However, the package will not include any form of tax amnesty, keeping the focus on incentivizing construction growth through policy support rather than financial relief. The initiative also aligns with the Prime Minister’s recent statements on accelerating Pakistan’s development projects, such as the Islamabad IT Park, which is being constructed at a cost of Rs25 billion, with financial assistance from South Korea.
