Pakistan storm into U18 Asia Cup Semi-Finals after thrilling 2-1 win over China

Pakistan qualified for the semi-finals of the Men’s U18 Asia Cup 2025 after defeating hosts China 2-1 in their final group match at the Dazhou National Hockey Training Centre.
The Green Shirts remained unbeaten through the group stage, finishing atop Group A with 12 points and an impressive +21 goal difference, having scored 25 goals and conceded only 4.
Forward Hassan Shahbaz opened the scoring in the 11th minute, giving Pakistan a crucial lead. Both teams pressed hard in the second quarter with penalty corners, but neither side could convert. Late in the third quarter, Ali Hanzala doubled the lead with a well-taken field goal, but China responded swiftly through Jiaxing Lin’s penalty corner.
Despite late pressure from China, goalkeeper Ghulam Mustafa produced several brilliant saves to secure the win. With victories over Hong Kong (8-0), Sri Lanka (9-0), Bangladesh (6-3), and now China (2-1), Pakistan will now face Malaysia in the semi-final on Friday at the same venue.
