The Pakistan Foreign Office (FO) has categorically stated that there will be no negotiations with the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), emphasizing the need for the Afghan government to take decisive action against terrorist groups operating from its soil.

In a weekly briefing, the FO spokesperson highlighted that the TTP has carried out numerous acts of terrorism against Pakistan, using Afghan territory as a base. The spokesperson stressed that the Afghan authorities must address the presence of these terrorist groups, including the TTP, which has been linked to various attacks within Pakistan.

The spokesperson also clarified that the decision to recognize the Afghan interim government will be made after consultations with Pakistan’s regional partners. Intelligence regarding terrorist activities has been shared with Afghanistan, but the specifics of this information exchange remain confidential.

The FO reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to safeguarding its citizens and condemned the recent incidents of terrorism in Balochistan. The government of Pakistan remains resolute in its stance against any form of dialogue with terrorist groups and expects the Afghan government to uphold its responsibility in curbing terrorism.
