Pakistan Army Shoots Down Indian Spy Drone Near LoC in Bhimber

Pakistan Army on Tuesday successfully shot down an Indian quadcopter after it violated Pakistani airspace along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Manawar sector of Bhimber district, security officials confirmed.
The Indian surveillance drone was reportedly conducting aerial reconnaissance when it was intercepted and brought down by alert Pakistani troops. “The timely action by Pakistan Army thwarted the enemy’s nefarious attempt to spy across the border,” officials stated, praising the Army’s professionalism and preparedness.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the incident is not isolated. A similar event occurred in 2024 when another Indian surveillance drone was taken down after crossing the LoC. The 2024 drone was shot down at 12:55 PM on February 25, with its remains located a day later bearing Indian Army markings, further affirming its origin.
This latest breach highlights continuing hostilities and surveillance tactics across the disputed border region. It also evokes memories of the February 27, 2019 incident, where Pakistan Air Force shot down Indian aircraft in a major aerial clash known as Operation Swift Retort.
There has been no official statement yet from Indian authorities regarding the latest drone incident.
