Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, reaffirmed Pakistan Army’s unwavering commitment to eliminate terrorism from the country, particularly from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

Addressing a press conference, he revealed that 917 terrorists have been killed in KP so far this year, marking the highest number of terrorist eliminations in the past decade. Over 14,500 counterterrorism operations were conducted in 2024, resulting in 769 terrorists being neutralized.

Lt Gen Chaudhry noted that Pakistan lost 577 innocent lives in 2024 and 516 more in 2025, including army personnel, policemen, and civilians, underscoring the sacrifices made in the war against terror.

He warned of a political-criminal nexus behind terrorism in KP and criticized the failure of the judicial system to punish terrorists. The DG ISPR emphasized that misleading narratives and incomplete implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP) have contributed to the resurgence of terrorism.

Lt Gen Chaudhry also accused India of using Afghan soil to sponsor terrorist activities inside Pakistan, urging Kabul not to allow its territory to become a haven for such elements.

He concluded by reaffirming that the Pakistan Army will take all necessary measures to protect the sovereignty and safety of Pakistan and its citizens.
