The 13th Pak-US joint military exercise, titled “Inspired Gambit 2026,” has commenced on January 9, 2026, at the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) in Pabbi, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The two-week-long exercise is being conducted in the field of counter-terrorism and includes participation from military contingents of both Pakistan and the United States. The opening ceremony was attended by senior officials from both countries.
According to ISPR, the primary objective of the joint exercise is to enhance mutual understanding and interoperability through the exchange of counter-terrorism experiences. Special emphasis is being placed on marksmanship skills, along with improving understanding of operational doctrines and best military practices.
The exercise aims to strengthen professional cooperation between the armed forces of both countries and to enhance their capacity to effectively respond to evolving security challenges.
ISPR stated that such joint exercises play a vital role in promoting regional security, peace, and stability. “Inspired Gambit 2026” reflects the shared commitment of Pakistan and the United States towards countering terrorism and maintaining peace and stability.
