Over 130 Intelligence-Based Operations Conducted Daily, Says ISPR DG
In a press conference held on Thursday, Lt Gen Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), shared key updates on Pakistan’s fight against terrorism. According to the ISPR chief, Pakistan’s security forces are conducting over 130 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) every day to eliminate threats from hostile forces.
As part of these efforts, 193 brave personnel of the Pakistan Army have embraced martyrdom in the 32,173 operations conducted so far this year. General Sharif highlighted the ongoing struggle in Balochistan, where inimical forces are fueling unrest. He assured that the Pakistan Army remains committed to restoring peace in the region.
In response to a question regarding former ISI Director General Lt Gen Faiz Hameed, Sharif noted that accountability within the armed forces is transparent, with investigations underway on allegations of misconduct. He emphasized that the armed forces remain apolitical and committed to upholding the constitution.
Addressing the recent wave of terrorism in Balochistan, the ISPR reported that security forces successfully thwarted several terrorist attacks, killing 21 militants in a recent clearance operation. However, 14 personnel, including 10 soldiers, made the ultimate sacrifice.
