Outrage in Kashmir as Young Man Dies in Delhi Police Custody

The tragic death of Zubair Ahmed Bhat, a young Kashmiri man, has sparked widespread anger and demands for justice after reports emerged that he died while in the custody of Delhi Police.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Zubair was found unconscious in a public park and later pronounced dead at a hospital, where doctors confirmed that he had suffered a fatal head injury.

PDP leader Iltija Mufti alleged that Zubair’s death was not accidental. “He was in police custody. The narrative being pushed is misleading,” she said in a statement, demanding a fair and independent investigation.

Family members have made serious allegations, claiming that Delhi Police picked up Zubair from his residence and subjected him to brutal torture using iron rods. They insist that his death is the result of custodial violence and are calling for accountability.

Human rights organizations and civil society groups have also voiced concern, urging a transparent inquiry and justice for the victim.
