One Dead, Three Injured as Militants Clash with Peace Committee in Bannu

A deadly exchange of fire took place between local militants and peace committee volunteers in the Ala Khel Sardi Khel area of Bannu district, resulting in the death of one young man and injuries to three others, including a schoolteacher.

According to local sources, the clash occurred when militants allegedly opened fire on the peace committee. In the ensuing gunfight, a youth lost his life, and three others sustained injuries. The injured were immediately taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

This is not the first time the area has witnessed such violence. Just two months ago, the same locality saw heightened tensions after militants abducted a local resident. In retaliation, locals captured two militants, after which both parties negotiated and exchanged hostages.

The resurgence of such violence has raised concerns among residents and has once again highlighted the fragile security situation in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
