Omar Ayub’s Resignation as PTI Secretary General Accepted
Omar Ayub’s resignation as Secretary General of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has been officially accepted as of Saturday. Ayub, who has been serving in this role since May 2023, had earlier resigned from the position in June this year. He cited an increased workload due to his constitutional and parliamentary responsibilities as a key reason for stepping down.
Despite resigning from his role as Secretary General, Ayub will continue to fulfill his duties as the Opposition Leader in the National Assembly and remain an active worker for PTI and its founder, Imran Khan.
In response to Ayub’s resignation, Imran Khan has made significant changes within the party’s structure. The former prime minister has delineated parliamentary affairs from practical political matters. Omar Ayub and Senator Shibli Faraz will now lead the parliamentary team, while Salman Akram Raja has been appointed as the new Secretary General of PTI.
