The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has successfully resumed crude oil production at the Rajian Oil Field in Chakwal, marking a significant revival after 4.5 years of inactivity.

In an official statement to the Stock Exchange, OGDCL announced that the site is now producing approximately 1,000 barrels of crude oil per day. This achievement has been made possible by deploying advanced artificial lift technology, including the installation of electric pumps, which allow extraction from depths of 3,774 meters.

Company officials emphasized that OGDCL maintains full ownership of the wells, making this milestone a crucial step toward strengthening Pakistan’s domestic energy sector. The resumption of operations is expected to reduce the country’s reliance on imported oil and enhance energy security.
