New Gwadar Airport Launches International and Domestic Flights

New Gwadar International Airport has officially commenced international flight operations, marking a significant milestone in Pakistan’s aviation sector.
The inaugural flight, PIA’s PK-197, departed from Gwadar to Muscat in the morning with 49 passengers on board. The return flight, PK-198, is scheduled to land in Gwadar in the afternoon.
In addition to international routes, domestic connectivity has also been initiated. PIA’s flight PK-504 will fly from Gwadar to Karachi at 2 PM. These flight operations began on January 20th, symbolizing the region’s growing importance in trade and tourism.
Sources revealed that PIA is currently utilizing ATR aircraft for these routes due to a lower number of passengers. However, Airbus planes may be introduced if passenger demand increases.
This development highlights Gwadar’s potential as a hub for international and domestic travel, further solidifying its role in Pakistan’s economic future.
