Neeraj Chopra and Manu Bhaker, Families Deny Marriage Rumors After Post-Olympics Interaction
After the conclusion of the Paris 2024 Olympics, speculation surrounding a potential romantic relationship between India’s javelin star Neeraj Chopra and ace shooter Manu Bhaker has ignited social media. The buzz began when the two athletes were seen together at a post-event gathering, sparking rumors that they might be more than just friends.
The rumors gained traction after the pair was spotted engaging in a warm interaction, alongside Manu’s mother, leading to widespread speculation about a possible future together. However, these speculations were quickly dispelled by both families.
Manu Bhaker’s father, Ram Kishan, was swift to clarify that the rumors were baseless, emphasizing that his daughter is not of marriageable age. He stated, “Manu is still very young. She is not even of marriageable age. Not even thinking about it right now,” thereby putting an end to the swirling gossip.
Further adding clarity, Ram Kishan highlighted the familial bond between Manu’s mother and Neeraj, explaining that she considers the Olympic javelin star as a son. “Manu’s mother considers Neeraj like her son,” he shared, underscoring the strong but entirely platonic relationship between the two families.
Neeraj Chopra’s uncle also addressed the rumors, stating that any significant news about Neeraj’s personal life would be made public when appropriate. “Just as Neeraj brought the medal, the entire country got to know about it. Similarly, when he marries, then everyone will know,” he remarked, indicating that the athlete’s marriage plans, if any, would not be kept secret.
Both Neeraj and Manu have enjoyed a successful yet challenging run at the Paris 2024 Olympics. While Neeraj secured a silver medal in the javelin throw, following his historic gold from Tokyo 2020, Manu clinched two bronze medals in her shooting events. Despite their achievements, both athletes remain focused on their careers, with marriage far from their current priorities.
