Nazish Jahangir’s Bail Petition Dismissed Amid Legal Dispute
A sessions court in Lahore rejected the interim bail petition of actor Nazish Jahangir on Friday, following her failure to appear in court despite multiple attempts to summon her. The court’s ruling came in light of an FIR filed against fellow actor Aswad Haroon, who accused Jahangir of not returning a borrowed car and 2.5 million rupees, which she allegedly secured for a project.
The FIR includes charges under Section 410 of the Pakistan Penal Code, which addresses cheating and dishonesty. Haroon stated in his complaint that Jahangir had asked him to meet at a farmhouse, but when he arrived, she was absent. Instead, she allegedly sent a man who threatened him with death if he attempted to contact her again.
In response to the allegations, Jahangir filed a petition for pre-arrest bail, arguing that the FIR was lodged with “malafide intention and for ulterior motives just to humiliate and harass the petitioner.” The petition further claimed that her potential arrest would lead to humiliation, prompting the request for bail.
