National CERT Issues Urgent Alert on Imminent Cyber Attack Threat; Organizations Urged to Fortify Cybersecurity

The National Cyber Emergency Response Team (CERT) has issued an urgent advisory warning of a significant increase in cyber attack risks targeting organizations across Pakistan. The advisory emphasizes the need for immediate action to protect digital infrastructures from potential breaches.
The primary threat identified by the National CERT is a SQL injection attack, a cyber assault where hackers exploit vulnerabilities in a database to gain unauthorized access to sensitive information. This type of attack poses a severe risk to the integrity and privacy of organizational data.
“Hackers are actively attempting to access sensitive data from various organizations’ databases,” the advisory warns, highlighting the critical need for enhanced cybersecurity measures.
In response to this escalating threat, the National CERT strongly recommends that all institutions mobilize their information security officers to spearhead defensive efforts. The advisory also urges the immediate activation of firewalls and other security measures to prevent potential breaches.
“This is a serious threat that could compromise the security of sensitive information across various sectors,” the advisory stated, stressing the importance of vigilance and continuous monitoring of systems for any suspicious activity.
