Misinformation About Fiverr Blocking Pakistani Freelancers Debunked, Profiles Remain Active

on

Recent claims circulating on social media that Fiverr has made Pakistani freelancers unavailable on its platform have been thoroughly debunked. A detailed investigation revealed that these claims are based on outdated information and appear to be part of a deliberate attempt to stir unrest within Pakistan’s freelance community.

The misinformation, which began recirculating on August 13, is traced back to an incident reported on May 11, 2023. However, no new notifications or updates regarding any issues with Pakistani freelancers have been posted on Fiverr’s official channels. A search across various social media platforms confirmed that the news is not recent and is merely a rehash of old information.

The claims were reportedly reignited by accounts linked to a political party, aiming to incite concern among freelancers in Pakistan. However, checks on Fiverr’s platform confirm that profiles from Pakistan are still active, and operations are continuing as usual. Freelancers from the country continue to access and utilize the platform without any restrictions.

Additionally, internet connectivity issues are common in South Asia, and notifications related to these issues occasionally appear on Fiverr. These are routine matters and do not indicate any larger problems with the availability of the platform or its services.

To reassure the community, a video demonstration was shared, showcasing active Pakistani freelancer profiles on Fiverr, countering the misinformation and reaffirming that the platform remains supportive of its global freelance community, including those from Pakistan.
