Minister Urges TikTok to Promote Educational Content in Pakistan
On Wednesday, Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecommunications, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, called on TikTok to utilize its platform for educational purposes in Pakistan. She highlighted the potential of TikTok to impart various skills and provide basic education to its extensive user base.
During a meeting with a TikTok delegation led by Emir Gelen, Director of Public Policy, the minister assured TikTok of the Ministry’s full support for initiatives promoting quality content. Secretary IT, Zarrar Hasham Khan, was also present at the discussion.
The TikTok delegation briefed the minister about ongoing projects in Pakistan and introduced upcoming programs aimed at enriching the platform with meaningful content. They also expressed willingness to collaborate with the Ministry of IT & Telecom to ensure quality educational material reaches users.
Shaza Fatima reiterated the importance of fostering productive content on social media and commended TikTok’s efforts to prioritize educational initiatives.
