Millions Rise Against Modi, Economy Suffers ₹15,000 Cr Blow

In one of the largest nationwide strikes in recent history, between 30 to 40 crore Indians, including farmers, laborers, bank employees, and transport workers, participated in “Bharat Bandh 2025” against the Modi government’s anti-farmer and anti-worker policies.

Major states like Kerala, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Punjab, and Tamil Nadu saw complete shutdowns — with empty streets, closed banks, and deserted railway stations. According to CII, the one-day protest inflicted an economic loss of ₹15,000 crore.

Farmers accused the government of betraying the promises made during the 2020–21 protests and are once again marching toward Delhi’s borders. Protesters claim this is no longer just a protest — it’s a crisis of public trust.

The silence of India’s mainstream media has triggered outrage on social platforms, where hashtags like #BharatBandh2025 are trending.

Experts believe this movement signals the beginning of a deeper revolution — driven by economic distress, social injustice, and deepening political alienation.
