Milk, yogurt prices increase in Peshawar Milk increased by Rs60 per litre and price of yogurt increased by Rs30 per kg

In yet another blow to the already inflation-hit residents of Peshawar, the prices of milk and yogurt witnessed a sharp increase on Thursday. The price of buffalo milk soared by Rs60 per litre, raising the cost from Rs180 to Rs240 per litre. Similarly, cow milk saw a significant jump, now priced at Rs200 per litre.
Adding to the burden, yogurt prices also experienced a hike of Rs30 per kilogram. Standard yogurt, which was previously sold at Rs190 per kg, now costs Rs220 per kg. The first-category yogurt, often preferred for its quality, is now being sold at Rs260 per kg.
The increase in essential food items like milk and yogurt is expected to exacerbate the financial strain on households in Peshawar, where citizens are already grappling with rising costs in almost every sector. The public has expressed frustration and concern over the constant upward trend in prices, questioning how they will manage daily necessities.
Vendors cite increased production and transportation costs as the primary reasons for the surge. However, consumers are calling for government intervention to regulate prices and provide relief from this inflationary wave.
