Meta ‘AI Dubbing’ feature will translate reels

Meta has introduced a new feature ‘AI dubbing’ which will automatically translate audios on Instagram Reels, making social interaction experience more engaging.

The tool automatically translates the audio and matches the speaker’s lips to the new language, making it easy to enjoy content without subtitles.

That would improve the accuracy and naturalness of the translation compared to traditional dubbing methods. Currently, this feature is being tested with English and Spanish Reels, with plans to expand to more languages soon.

This addition to reels content would certainly increase the engagement and outreach of creators’ content and users have access to content from across the world in their native language.

Using its latest AI model, Llama 3.2, the company has implemented a system that automatically translates the audio of Reels videos. Currently, this feature is only available to users in the USA and would be rolled out to all users globally soon.
