Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim Meets COAS Asim Munir, Praises Pakistan Army’s Role in Regional Peace
On Friday, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim visited Pakistan’s General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, where he met with Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir. The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral ties and mutual interests between Malaysia and Pakistan, particularly in the areas of defense cooperation.
During the discussions, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim expressed his deep admiration for the Pakistan Army’s professional expertise and acknowledged the sacrifices made by the armed forces in the fight against terrorism. He praised the army’s role in maintaining peace and stability in the region.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that both leaders emphasized the importance of continued defense cooperation between the two nations. At the conclusion of the meeting, the Malaysian Prime Minister extended a formal invitation to General Munir to visit Malaysia, which the COAS graciously accepted.
This high-level meeting not only highlights the growing defense cooperation between Malaysia and Pakistan but also underscores Pakistan’s pivotal role in ensuring regional security.
