40-year-old man from Balrampur, Surguja division, has been diagnosed with a brain hemorrhage, which doctors believe was caused by the loud noise from DJ music. Sanjay Jaiswal, who had no previous history of hypertension, illness, or trauma, experienced sudden dizziness while working near a DJ setup. Initially dismissing the symptoms, Jaiswal later suffered from severe headaches and vomiting, leading him to seek medical attention.

According to Dr. Shailendra Gupta, an associate professor in the ENT department at Government Medical College Ambikapur, a CT scan revealed a blood clot in Jaiswal’s brain, likely resulting from a burst blood vessel. Typically, such incidents are linked to hypertension, accidents, or injuries, but Jaiswal’s case was different.

Dr. Gupta explained that loud noises can sometimes cause brain hemorrhages, particularly in individuals with weaker occipital regions in the rear of the head. Jaiswal’s blood pressure was normal, and there were no signs of previous medical issues. Initially reluctant to disclose the full story, Jaiswal eventually admitted that the loud DJ music had made him dizzy, leading to his deteriorating condition.

This incident has drawn attention to the ongoing issue of noise pollution in Chhattisgarh. Last year, the Chhattisgarh High Court criticized the state government for its lack of action on controlling noise pollution, especially from DJs and amplifiers. In response, the Chief Secretary has called for a meeting with police and district collectors to enforce stricter penalties for noise ordinance violations.
