KP Govt Gives Ultimatum to Bajaur Tribes as Foreign Militants Hide Among Civilians

Security sources have revealed that deliberate ambiguity is being spread during discussions about the presence of foreign militants in Bajaur. However, they insist that ground realities are crystal clear — militants, identified as Kharijites, are residing among the civilian population and are actively involved in terrorist and criminal activities.

According to sources, the majority of these militants are Afghan nationals. In response, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, including the Chief Minister and top security officials, has placed three clear options before tribal elders in the region:

  1. Expel foreign militants — primarily Afghan nationals — from the area.

  2. Temporarily vacate the region for one to two days, so security forces can carry out a targeted and decisive operation.

  3. If both above options are not feasible, efforts should be made to minimize collateral damage as operations will go ahead regardless.

Security sources also stressed that there will be no negotiation with these militants or their facilitators unless they fully surrender to the state. They reaffirmed that the tribal jirga currently underway is meant to safeguard civilians, but it will not halt the impending action.

“There can be no compromise with the enemies of Islam and the state,” officials stated, adding that only the state has the sole authority to conduct armed operations.
