KP Government Fixes Minimum Wage at Rs. 40,000 from July 1, 2025
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has officially announced an increase in the minimum wage, setting it at Rs. 40,000 per month, effective from July 1, 2025. According to the notification, the daily wage will be Rs. 1,538.46.
The order clarifies that the minimum wage should not be treated as the maximum wage, and employers are allowed to pay higher wages to skilled and experienced workers. It further states that even those working on piece-rate or contract systems must be paid at least the minimum wage.
Importantly, the notification ensures that women and transgender workers will receive equal wages as men. All industrial and commercial establishments in the province are now legally bound to comply with this directive.
